Hayes Harriers 4 ; Birmingham Citadel 1 (I Law)
Citadel decided that instead of using the previous weeks performance as a bench mark they would put in their worst performance of the season this time around. That's not to take anything away from Hayes Harriers who played really well and if it wasn't for Stuart Stanley in goal could have won by loads more. However eveything about this Citadel performance was unacceptable. The defence was farcical, the midfield not much better, and the strikers non-existent. There were no challenges made, no passing, no talking, not a lot of anything really. The goal came in the second half but we were already 4-0 down by then anyway. It was actually quite a good goal, with Marc Richardson taking a freekick quickly whilst the Hayes defence weren't paying attention. Ian had the simple task of side footing the ball in. Although Citadel did blatently have the ball over the line another time after that, which the referee missed, it wouldn't have really made much difference. Citadel got exactly what they deserved. FT 4-1
